Noahs Caring Hands Animal Hospital At Geist

We had a very disappointing experience at Noah’s Caring Hands Animal Hospital at Geist. Our 12-year-old dachshund, Cece, needed an allergy injection that she has previously received through Noah’s Animal Hospital in Greenfield. Because the Greenfield location was busy, we scheduled an appointment at the Geist location expecting to have the same treatment performed. My wife took Cece to the appointment and was told that they could not simply administer the allergy injection based on her previous care at another Noah’s location. Instead, we were told their veterinarian would need to examine her and perform additional testing, with an estimated total cost of approximately $500–$600. The allergy injection itself is around $150. We also have pet insurance through our relationship with the Greenfield Noah’s, but my wife was told that this did not apply at the Geist location. What bothers me most is that these facilities operate under the Noah’s name, yet Cece’s established treatment and our relationship with another Noah’s location apparently did not carry over in the way we reasonably expected. Had this been clearly explained when we scheduled the appointment, we could have avoided the trip and the stress. My wife left extremely upset and in tears because all she was trying to do was get our 12-year-old dog the allergy treatment she needed. I understand that veterinarians have professional responsibilities and may need to examine an animal before providing treatment. However, the difference between expecting a roughly $150 allergy injection and being presented with a potential $500–$600 visit should have been communicated before the appointment. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will be looking elsewhere for Cece’s care. I hope Noah’s uses situations like this to improve communication between its locations and, most importantly, with pet owners before they arrive for an appointment. Happy ending for Cece... BE CAUTIOUS BOARDING WITH NOAHS On September 19th, I called Caring Hands to schedule boarding for my dog from September 25 until October 4. They confirmed he would be able to stay, pending a stool sample. I called Noah's on September 24th to confirm the drop off only to find that Noah's had never scheduled my dog for boarding. They then informed me that they could not accommodate any boarding for him. Noah's failed to contact me or notify me of this and had I not called, I would have shown up for drop off only to be turned away. EDIT: The owner wrote a kind, measured reply and considering I wrote the initial review while stressed and angry, I'd like to revise my review. I know Noah's did not fail me intentionally. I'm sure they do good work on the vet side, and I really don't want one isolated incident to invalidate the necessary aid they provide. I'm sure Noah's is solid for vet care, but be very wary scheduling boarding and prepare to call them in advance a couple times.

I have been a client of Dr Roach & Caring Hand’s for a lot of yrs now. She has seen me thru my young pups & the loss of my older dogs. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Roach & her staff. I cannot thank her or the staff enough for always going the extra mile with my boys. I highly recommend Caring Hand’s & the staff there.
